Android Engineer (all genders)

Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden
Full-time
Permanent employee

Inhalte der Stellenbeschreibung

We develop and run our products Parship, ElitePartner and eharmony ourselves and want to make them even more successful in the coming years. As an Android Engineer (all genders), you will be part of one of our engineering teams and take responsibility for the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of new features. You will not only collaborate closely with your colleagues, but also exchange ideas with other development teams.

Minimum Qualifications and skills

  • Several years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, plus a deep understanding of state-of-the-art architecture patterns (e.g. MVVM, Clean Architecture).
  • Routine use of automated tests (especially unit tests) and a strong focus on clean, maintainable code -  ideally already using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot as part of your everyday workflow.
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics in an audience-appropriate way - whether you are talking to engineers (all genders), product managers (all genders), or other stakeholders.
  • Very good English skills (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualifications and skills

  • Experience with Pair Programming and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience or strong interest in Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and in modularising Android applications to improve scalability, build times, and team autonomy.
  • Interest in augmenting your daily work with AI.
  • Track record of driving technical improvements or innovations while keeping business value and long-term sustainability in mind.
  • Good German language skills (e.g. B2 or above) are a plus for collaborating smoothly with stakeholders and teams across the company.

What you can expect

  • Design, implement, and maintain modern Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Work in an autonomous, cross-functional team to deliver features end-to-end, breaking work into incremental, shippable slices and aligning with team and business priorities.
  • Apply state-of-the-art architecture patterns and ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and continuous refactoring.
  • Communicate status, risks and dependencies clearly, give and receive feedback constructively, and support less experienced engineers through pairing and code reviews.
